Is responsible for overseeing the entire ministry to men and boys in the church, including Men’s Ministries, Challengers and Royal Ambassadors. In many cases (but not always), he may also serve as the Men’s Ministry director. The Baptist Men’s Director should represent the entire Baptist Men’s program on the Church Council, as well as the church Missions Council. He should work with the pastor and other mission leaders in planning, promoting, and carrying out missions opportunities for the church family to be involved in.
Is responsible for Men’s Ministries in the church. Areas of concern include Spiritual Growth, Evangelistic Outreach, Ministry Involvement within the Church, and Missions involvement. Effective Men’s Ministry directors will develop a team of leaders to take the lead in these areas. He may feel led to take the lead on one of these ministry areas himself, as well as maintaining an overall coordinator’s role.
Is first and foremost concerned with evangelizing men to salvation and church membership. This may include the following aspects:
Focuses on the desire to see men of the church develop into mature and faithful Christians. This man works with the Men’s Ministry Director to assure that a spiritual growth emphasis is the focus of each men’s meeting. He is constantly reviewing and evaluating men’s ministry resource material for future use. His job may also include, the formation of small group ministry among the men, planning and carrying out a men’s retreat, etc.
Is responsible for involving men in missions. He would work to identify mission needs, plan the details, and carry out mission activities. He should be knowledgeable as to resources for finding a variety of mission opportunities (needs brought up by church members, the local Baptist Association, NCBM/Baptists on Mission, local helping agencies, etc.) Construction knowledge could be a plus for this person, but not a must. More important is the ability to assess, plan, coordinate, and communicate mission activities.

Is responsible for involving men in the ministry of the church by encouraging them to utilize their spiritual gifts. Every church needs men to step up and take leadership roles as Sunday School teachers, discipleship leaders, youth ministry assistants, Royal Ambassador leaders, ushers, choir members, deacons, etc. This person is constantly encouraging and praying with men about using their gifts within the church. He might want to lead the men in a study on spiritual gifts. This person should be an encourager.
