At this time, the Puu Kahea Conference Center is closed due to COVID-19. We do anticipate that the center will open sometime in the near future, and will need help.

Baptists on Mission is in partnership with the Hawaii-Pacific Baptist Convention. Primary is our relationship with the Puu Kahea Baptist Conference Center on the island of Oahu.

Hawaii-Pacific

Overview

The conference center is a major ministry resource for Hawaii Baptist congregations, training their members for ministry, and ministering to children and youth during the summer. Week-long mission teams serve through maintenance and light construction projects. In addition, there is opportunity for couples to serve for 1-2 months as assistant camp directors. Other requests from Hawaii congregations may include VBS, backyard Bible clubs, music, sports, construction, and more. The Hawaiian Islands have long been the “gateway” to the US for many coming from East Asia. Please be in prayer about how you and your church may assist in reaching the lost in Hawaii for Christ.

Start by clicking here to see a printable .PDF of 2021 Hawaii projects. Once you have looked it over, contact Mark Abernathy to discuss the opportunities and/or secure a mission project. You will be put in direct contact with a requestor in Hawaii to ask any and all questions. If both you and requestor feel it is a good match, go ahead and set a date for your team’s service. Then you will be directed to secure the project on behalf of your team by registering as the team leader.
